Home visits
There are times when you cannot reach the surgery. This maybe because you are
house bound or because you are very unwell and cannot leave the house. In these
circumstances it will be possible to arrange for a doctor to call. Please phone
the surgery as early as possible in the morning so the doctors can arrange their
visits.
Somedays there will be a doctor who is allocated the job of doing most of the
visits. In this case he will probably see you in the morning. On other days the
visits usually have to wait until the doctors have completed their morning
surgery - about 12.30 to 1pm.
Please do not ask for a doctor to visit if you can get to the surgery.
This will help doctors see more patients quickly.

Emergencies
If you have an emergency problem that cannot wait until the next surgery
please call your surgery and if we are close you will be directed to an our of hours operator.
An operator will take your details and will arrange for a doctor to call you
back. The doctor may give you advice on the phone to follow. An appointment may
be made for you to attend a primary care surgery. The nearest is at Good Hope Hospital.
If your medical condition prevents
you from going to a centre a doctor may then visit you. Please do not ask for
a doctor to visit if you can get to the surgery. This will help doctors see
more patients quickly.
